Welcome to (PPGBAN) at Ufes
The Postgraduate Program in Biological Sciences: Animal Biology fosters the scientific development of researchers and higher education teachers with a focus in animal biology. Based at the Center for Humanities and Natural Sciences of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, the program has offered masters and doctoral degrees since 2002 and 2009, respectively.
With a history of excellence in postgraduate education since the accreditation by the Brazilian official accreditation agency for postgraduate degrees, the program prepares qualified professionals for an expanding higher education workforce and for research in the private and public sectors as well as in non-governmental organizations for disciplines such as systematics, biogeography, evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, biotechnology and conservation biology.
Our goal is to promote the enhancement of scientific and professional qualifications in animal biology by providing comprehensive training in both the theory and praxis of the field.
The program is based in Vitória-ES, offering the course of MSc in Animal Biology since 2002 e the course of PhD in Animal Biology since 2009 and has an academic qualification profile certified by CAPES, receiving 4 on its last evaluation.
The program already has 220 masters and 67 doctors and counts with 56 students regularly enrolled, being 26 in the masters and 30 in the doctorate.
